Same for our family. In the early 1960′s living in Hornepayne the train was our mode of transportation in and out of town except for our once-a-year summer vacation to the cottage in Sundridge when our dad would drive him, my mom, and six anxious kids!

Over the last few years you will have logged thousands of miles traveling by rail. Except for the rail employees, can’t imagine there are many others doing likewise. During the 50′s/early 60′s, that is how it was done at my house. You didn’t jump in the car for vacations, you went by train.

Nice shot R.W. I’m just back from a Toronto to Prince Rupert round trip on The Canadian #1 and #2, and The Skeena #5 and #6 November 19-December 1.
The consist of equipment on the Canadian has had a few refurbished cars added since your August 2018 pic. The Skeena, not so much!

RW, Nice capture of a good size VIA #1. VIA 6433 was leading on VIA #73 this past Saturday and Sunday detouring over the Halton Sub. due to Metrolinx Oakville Sub. being shut down for planned work.
