<title>Comments on: Turtle Mountain looms ominously in the distance, as the Royal Canadian Pacific navigates the debris field at Frank Slide. In 1903, Turtle Mountain gave way, sending 110 million tonnes of rock into the valley, burying part of the town of Frank and the CP mainline. Within 3 weeks, the CPR had reopened the line and the town of Frank was relocated away from the mountain. 122 years later the remnants of the slide provide a constant reminder of the tragedy which claimed 70-90 lives. The unstable mountain is monitored through sensors, as there is a risk of a future slide.</title>
