Comments on: T’was a dark, dark day at the Sound. It is always disappointing when good times come to an end. Jimmy Bell was no longer at the station; his agent’s job was now history. And now we witness the Train Order Signals are meeting the same fate. For me, it was a heavy feeling of sadness knowing the good times at CP’s Parry Sound station were no longer. For us fans, change never seems to be for the better.

Sad day indeed. If any good can be said, at least this station wasn’t demolished. Never the same though. And those train order signals were something else for sure. Sadly, I never saw one in operation. So i 100% agree with Steve’s comment in your great effort documenting this exact moment it all became part of ‘history’.

I just remember agent/operator Jimmy telling me his position would become redundant in the near future. Same with some other agent/operators along the CP. I don’t recall the dates. But, just like Bolton and many other places.

What changed to get rid of the operators on this day? Operating rulebook?
