Comments on: Two newly built EMD G22W-AC locomotives for the Egyptian National Railways are seen on the test track at the GMD London locomotive plant. The lead locomotive number is 3937, part of a large order of 228 G22W-AC’s (AC for alternator equipped instead of a DC generator) built at London in the early 80′s for export overseas to Egypt.

Very neat catch.

It was quite normal to have someone in each unit when running them on this test track.

They wouldn’t MU the units, thus allowing one to be in DB and simulate a load.

Looks like there is someone back there, probably an EMD hostler or someone running the units back and forth to test them out (or spot them for pickup).
