Comments on: Two NW cabooses share the spolight at St. Thomas after likely coming off trains operating on the CN Paynes and Cayuga Subdivisions. The vans included; NW 555076 and NW 555023 both of which were still lettered for NW. These active vans would continue to be assigned to Norfolk Southern Ontario trains until 1996.

One of these is in service in Detroit .. found it and shot it in October 2023, not this exact number but they do live on.

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, I believe it was union agreements with the original Canadian crews that still operated across the borders on these runs. The cabooses were required on all trains and then in November 1996 they made their last runs.
