Comments on: Two of CN’s 3200-series MLW C424′s (exact numbers unknown) sit tarped and stored out of service at CN’s MacMillan Yard, near CN SD40 5064. Apparently 10 units were stored at MacMillan Yard, and 4 in Montreal, but no reason was noted on the slide (traffic downturn maybe?). Today, special large tarps for diesel locomotives stored out of service would be a frivolous extra expense at best.
