Comments on: Unbelievable could be one of many words said about this years Canada day. After spending almost a whole day trying to track 5743′s moves in Windsor the day before and trying to figure the reason why they were being unpredictable, I decided at the end of the day that the chances of the famous SD40-2 leading an eastbound would be slim to none, especially in shootable lighting. Still, I decided to wake up at 5:30 am to turn on my scanner for some hope. Only 30 minutes after, and being half sleep, I heard the crew of 134/2-H89 call themselves CP 5743 East. Safe to say I was immediately was no longer half-asleep… The chase began with me running out of my house at 6 am in the morning, and chased him to my first spot; here at the Tilbury curve. Something you could literally dream about in a railfans mind; waiting out in the country with the early morning birds chirping, hearing a horn in the distance, with a SD40 rounding the curve. A repitition of Toronto moves by Windsor to give that stinky 710 another middle finger and prevent KCS 4127 E from becoming reality could only be explained by 5743 being the only non-bad order of the consist. Power shortages are fun for us photographers no doubt, and good shot!
