Comments on: Under mostly threatening skies, a quick burst of sunshine meant a quick shot of CP switchers working Agincourt Yard. Seen are CP SW9 7401, SW1200RS 8116 and an unidentified third unit. (Note the difference in headlight) The 8116 is now retired and the 7401 was renumbered to 1201 in 1982 and dealt off to Rail Trust Equipment in 2003.

Last unit appears to be an SW1200RS in block lettering (narrow grey band on cab), likely 8112 which retained its Maroon & Grey into the mid-70's. IIRC, 8112, 8116 and 8118 were reassigned hump duty to work with the six 7400-series SW9's at Agincourt hump, account CP needed more power to cover the hump assignments when they went from 2-unit to 3-unit sets.

I do love shots of these units. This is a hump set... the SW9's were assigned to that duty for a number of years before bumped by GP7u and GP9u sets. I have a memory of these as a kid, but much more of them working the pull down after being bumped of tbe hump.
