Let us hope Gentlemen, that Ottawa approves and funds VIA’s high frequency rail plan. Perhaps that will be the saviour! Too bad Vermont won the bidding on the Dallas RDC’s, that might have helped also. I’m keeping my fingers crossed! – Sincerely, Ken

Problem is, Steve, guys like me remember the way it used to be; and when we see taxes going up like there is no tomorrow and services being cut like no tomorrow, we get upset. It didn’t used to cost a fortune to keep these places open. Now they have to have his and hers and whatever bathrooms, special parking, the whole bit. Everything has to be fancy. And it cost.

Arnold, to a point I agree, I dislike how small towns still only have a fraction of the trains stopping at it, not even by request.

However, I will say that it’s highly likely maintenance, upkeep and possibly rent on these old stations is costing VIA a lot of money and the newer stations are much more cost effective.

Sad to see them go, in reality, but it’s all in a drive for better efficiency.

I still think it is all a systematic approach by the government to convince us VIA is redundant. Every station stop save for the hot commuter areas is taking a step backwards.
