Comments on: VIA 6920, with Windsor-Toronto train 72, blows by the old Stoney Point station at mile 81.9 on the CN’s Chatham Sub. Three years later, CN would lift the eastbound main and in 1992 CN removed the fire damaged station.

Wow… amazing they rebuilt it in this classic style look….

As compared to the VIA built ‘shelters’ (Grimsby comes to mind, including the latest built in mid 2000′s) and the monstrosities (Belleville, etc) and the cruddy box-like Ingersoll..

This station is actually kind of nice.

After some model citizens torched the station, CN rebuilt it to this new look and continued to use it for maintenance crews. A second torching in 1992 saw it demise.

Wow that’s quite the difference in the station from Bruce’s 1982 shot and yours. Did they chop off the attic?
