Comments on: VIA 72 with F40PH-2 6416 just came off from the CN Chatham Sub from Windsor and now is on the CN Strathroy Sub eastbound for London. This is before the CTC was installed on the CN Srathroy Sub.

Todd – The track is known as SA-44 (1845′) with a hand throw switch connection on the Chatham Sub. (M-7.35) and the Strathroy Sub. (M-9.59).
Pre-CTC Track SA44 was identified as a Storage & Passing Track.

On second look, track in foreground with fresh ballast – did the Chatham Sub get realigned at some point?? Or is this just a siding?

Komoka was not an Interlocking, the signals there formed part of the Automatic Block Signal System (ABS). The Operator was in charge of the switches.

Yes, there was then when CTC was Installed the operator’s job was limited.
