Comments on: VIA FP9 6521 leads two 6600-series F9B units on an eastbound “Corridor Canadian” consist, passing CN workers doing some track upgrading on the Kingston Sub around Mile 301, as viewed from Park Road South overpass. The east end of CN’s Oshawa Yard is visible, serving GM’s large Oshawa assembly plant in the upper left background.

If you look very closely, you can see the domes of the Skyline and Park cars. In the early-mid 1980′s, The Canadian’s consist between Toronto-Montreal was run mixed with corridor trains (e.g eastbound #2 combined with #44/54) in order to, according to Eric Gagnon’s post on the subject, cover the Toronto-Montreal stretch (as Sudbury-Montreal had been cancelled) and service the passenger equipment at The Glen yard in Montreal.

Thanks Dan. I appreciate all the pics you post, but those with Engineering Work Equipment anywhere in the scene get a little extra attention from me.
It's just not possible to get 49 years of MoW equipment out of your system. :-)

What a great capture.
Both new strings of CWR are placed on the tie ends.
A Fairmont A4 gang motor car and material lorries way out front (at top of frame).
A trio of Fairmont W113 dual spike pullers are yanking the spikes along one rail before rotating and pulling spikes on the other side.
A cleanup crew following behind the spike pullers knocking off any anchors missed by the 'jump-start' guys and getting any missed spikes or 'deadheads'.
And finally, at the bottom left of the frame is a freshly painted Center Line Nailer.
All this tells me CN's RCO (Rail Change Out machine) CN 50551 is not far behind and getting ready to replace both strings of well used mainline rail.
