Comments on: Waterloo Central Railway (WCR) begins its work at the Lanxess chemical plant in Elmira, ON with 8140. I’ve heard the unit is actually not owned by WCR which begs the question about what reporting marks it uses. That being said, it’s interesting that it’s in WCR paint. The unit looks spectacular with classic CP paint, and I was happy to have the opportunity to photograph this operation.

LDS will paint in whatever the customer requests. If they don't request then they will send it out in their own paint scheme.

I believe its solid black with white numbers and letters LDSX under it.

Thanks for the information. I heard that as well but wasn't entirely sure. Curious as to why they would put the effort into painting it in WCR colours if the unit is leased. Lease to own perhaps?
