Comments on: Wednesday the 23rd of April in 1975 I noted as my day off work and since it had all the indications of being a great day to head out, I drove from home (St. Catharines) down toward Bayview and at the suggestion of a friend (Bill McArthur) we drove over to the TH&B roundhouse area at Chatham St off Dundurn to kill a bit of time as it was quiet at the junction. Besides a few TH&B units, this old CP RS10s #8599 was looking pretty good, as by this time there were not all that many units left in the old script paint scheme. The 8599 was retired, along with most of the others in this group by 1984 and I have wondered if this unit survived long enough to get repainted into the “action’ red. I always liked this image.

Such a classic paint scheme. I believe this unit would have been assigned to the Goderich train at this time. I've seen shots from spring 1975 with it working Goderich yard.
