Comments on: Well, once I saw that “ghastly” offering from Joe Harrison of that sad Houston BC station this past week, it sorta gave me the courage to put this ‘also ran’ to Railpics. Not to make an ‘ugly station’ contest or anything, but this old Canadian Northern station that used to grace the countryside at Oriole in the North York suburb of Toronto, was rather unsightly once it got boarded up for demolition. Last CNoR station of it’s type in Ontario. The station was built in 1906. It began life under the name ‘Duncan’, but became Oriole once the CNoR went bankrupt around 1918. A relocation of the commuter stop resulted in the building closing in 1978. I heard it was going to be demolished, and sight unseen, made the trek to photograph it. This image is from three weeks before it was razed on April 7, 1987.

Well; I guess it was worth the trek from St. Catharines.
The Queen E was still the Quick and Easy Way in 1987.
but, man, to think it was still there.
There were all sorts of small stations around Toronto.
Glad you got that one.
