Comments on: Well, since there very well could be a deluge of CN Executive Train P007 images to RP, I guess I will get mine in there too. This image is of the trial run on Friday, July 17th. The difference between this and the official run is the second unit is 2996 rather than the ultra-clean 3412 trailing the 3309 in consist on Monday. Looks good. A tip of the cap to the lad who clued us in this train was going to roll down thru Niagara. I’m sure all us locals know just who I am referring to. :o) A big THANKS. The Grimsby sub has very few very open areas to capture a train of this length, unless you are on an overpass.

Having spent some time in the Beamsville area (My parents have lived nearby since 2001) going up and down looking for angles, I’m not shocked the king of Niagara found a spot! I know exactly where you are too!

There were so few open spots 20 years ago and things are just growing in even more – witness this https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=11446 – check street view. Bushes.

Forgot to mention the 2996 is how you can tell the trial run from the real thing. The grimy 2996 was pulled for a sparkling clean 3412 for the Tall Foreheads.

This spot has always been an orchard. Off to my right is a irrigation pond and pumps. In front of me below that brush is Konkle Creek. At left behind the tree is an old dam. It is stone, water noisy flowing over. An apparatus there is still visible but missing its parts; a structure not unlike a creek-bank wide blade which could be raised and lowered to control the volume of water. And between that and the tracks is a concrete bridge for farm equipment to cross. Different owners on the other side of of the creek in this scene. Behind me, a 1/4 mile east on the opposite side of the tracks stood the station. Now; the land is a berm in front of Dollarama. Zero evidence a station ever existed there. Check a map between Lincoln and Ontario Sts in Beamsville for layout.

Let me know if it comes down the Chatham Subdivision! I somehow doubt it…but, would be a great catch.

Well done on your photo. Between growth and urban sprawl, well, I am sure that doesn’t resolve shooting along the Grimsby Sub. But you’ve got a well shot wide angle view.

I noted how grimy 2996 is. But, not the official run so guess we can excuse it’s appearance this time LOL

Also, would this be the approximate location of where the old Beamsville station once stood?
