Alas, when they got to Ayr, KCS 5000 wasn’t loading or providing full dynamic which meant there was no way to get down the 2.3% grade into Hamilton. Whatever the solution was, it occurred in the dark. There had been a solo BNSF running around from a 734 delivering racks to Ayr.
