Comments on: What I wouldn’t give to go back to the days when 3 MLW’s led container trains out of MAc Yard and BIT? I still remember seeing one weaving through the crossovers at Doncaster at speed wondering how they weren’t tipping over. The leans made it suspicious to say the least.

I rode 2000′s and 2300′s and found they just rocked me to sleep. It was always such a fight to stay awake. But watching them going through crossovers, there was always doubt whether they’d stay up.

They were interesting units to say the least, but man did they ever sway back and forth, especially at about 15mph on bad track. I have had those units on many trains. The C40-8M’s are just as bad because they inherited the trucks off the HR616′s
