Comments on: While GEXR may be gone from here, echoes of the GEXR continue to reverberate. During the CN strike of 2019 the crews out of Kitchener were unaffected because they are under a different Union agreement, still called by their former name the GEXR. Big power was left stranded by the Toronto (Non GEXR) crews in Kitchener due to the strike and the former GEXR crews were happy to use it for a few days while their brothers in the Union ironed things out. At shakespeare, the mill in the background is shrouded in EMD 16-710 exhaust as 8863 works hard to maintain track speed on the hilly Guelph subdivision. SD70M-2 8863 was built only 30 miles away at EMD’s London facility in late 2008 and a second identical unit was right behind it on this train making it sound very nice. More to come from this fantastic day.

Nicely done sir! I do find it odd as well, that with CN servicing this line again, they aren't using the larger power like you've captured here. Great catch = great day indeed!

Excellent shot Steve.

This was a great day out. I wish I could have chased this west from Kitchener as well. Glad others did though.
