Comments on: While out on a day off; just ‘cruising’ the Dundas sub; came across this eastbound freight. Moving very slowly, as it looks as if someone is addressing a problem down on the third unit. The Budds westbound have just one by. Power consist is CN 2029, 2025, 2564, 9464 and 9501. I found it interesting it is still not ribbon rail on the track it occupies.

Appreciate the kind words, you both. Of course railfan/railroaders spend a lot of time regretting the opportunities for photos or info. But that is just train nut nature. I’m always annoyed with myself for not getting out as much as I wanted to, but I should sit up and realize I was lucky to get out as much as I did.
But…..there is always the one you missed…..

@Dave…hindsight my friend. I think as railfan/railroaders we all feel the same way. Fortunately I did take my camera to work quite often and have some great photos. I just need to get my lazy butt to post them
I totally agree with you about AW’s pictures. They are awesome and capture a bygone time in railroading, but also they capture a mood as well. When I see his pictures like this one. I can feel the heat of the units and budds and smell the diesel exhaust. Well done AW

Each time I see your work, I kick myself for not having taken my camera to work more often in my 6 year CN career, that I didn’t go and suck up to the dispatchers more for inside information and that I simply didn’t record what was on the shop track at whatever yard I went to. Fortunately, there’s your collection.

Well, thank you, Mr. Engineer !!!Some memories have faded to not much of anything but others are still very strong and adrenaline starts to flow just looking at the memories. And, hot damn, I am disappointed that those exciting years are now in the past.
