<title>Comments on: Wisconsin Central (WC) SW8 900, which was former Algoma Central Railway (ACR) 140 is seen sitting in WC&#8217;s Sault Ste. Marie yard. Earlier that year on January 31, WC had acquired the ACR and all of it&#8217;s locomotives. The SW8 was built by General Motors in December 1951 and was only ever renumbered by WC as well as given WC logo crests as seen in the photo, never receiving a full repainting. It was eventually sold to Independent Locomotive Service and was given an extended career operating as ILSX 900.

Rob Smith took this photo a month prior at the same location showing the other side of the unit. HERE</title>
