Comments on: With about a month remaining before CN returns to operate the Hagersville Subdivision I decided to take a drive to Garnet to check out what Southern Ontario Railway was up to. As per usual, RLHH 595 was busy switching out tank cars to bring to Imperial Oil. It’s great to see steel being shipped by rail again; eight coil cars for Stelco were left on the main to be taken to Nanitcoke when switching was complete. Garnet was where my brother and I had our first cab ride in a CN GP40-2W, and thanks to a friendly RLHH crew a few years ago history repeated itself and my sons got their first cab ride in a spotless SD40-2. I get why so many railfans were and still are passionate for the TH&B because it was the hometown road. I feel the same about the RLHH having grown up with it and seeing the railroad transition from RaiLink, to Rail America, and then Genesee & Wyoming ownership.
