Comments on: With leased GP38′s reflecting in the water, Extra B&O 4806 West has descended the grade off the Cainsville Fill and is about to cross Locks Road in the southeast end of Brantford. This is where water collected in Mohawk Lake drains via a small damn into the Grand River. On this day the empty slab cars are right on the head end. You can visit this location via the Hamilton-Brantford Rail Trail, which utilizes the TH&B right-of-way.

That’s a beautiful image in a place not often photographed. I’ve ridden the trail many times near this location on the way from Hamilton to Brantford. It’s amazing to see what it looked like back then.

What a great photo! You've got some real gems. This bridge has been removed. The rail trail ends at Mohawk Street/Locks Road on the west side, and you have to travel over the canal via the road bridge to continue on the rail trail easterly to Hamilton.
