		<description>Looks like they to prevent snow accumulation of the throw rod between the ties. In winter when we have to clean the switch points we also have to clean out the area where the throw rod is because it gets packed with snow. This device looks like it keeps snow out. Obviously only used in this particular industry tracks.</description>
