Comments on: With smokestacks from Sarnia refineries in the background, I’m at Tashmoo Ave near Sarnia, on the Aamjiwnaang First Nation Reserve. The CSX transfer has just left home rails and has entered the St. Clair River spur with 20 or so cars for CN. This job usually runs daily, but for whatever reason on the July 1 weekend they did not run on Saturday July 1 or Sunday July 2. On the 3rd, D724 (Sarnia to Sombra turn) was ordered along with this yard job.

What took so long.... I had heard it on radio in a recent trip but I remembered how slow of a chase it was and opted not to go looking.....

They still have to go down unless the Ethanol plant has shut down, I guess it will be a beltpack job and d724 was conventional! now?

Thanks, but I give full credit to one of RP.CA's early moderators Jay Brooks for the shot as he did it years prior. I'm usually in Church when they head up so I rarely had the opportunity to get it.

D724 is the same as always, I believe it'll be a Monday/Wed/Fri assignment but AS REQUIRED.

Seems like Monday is a very good bet, your mileage may vary on other days.. there are only two customers down in Sombra area and I'm not sure how busy they are. The rest of Sarnia/Corunna is taken care of by yard jobs .

Mr. Host..you seem to keep out doing yourself! Really shows the relationship between rail and oil (or other chemicals). I'm 0 Lanning to get back to Sarnia 1st week of August (vacation)...what is the daily schedule for D724?

Thanks. In fact I now have a 80-400mm lens to play with, and this was at 360mm..

I really like the refinery backdrop. The flare stack is even in there. I bet you used your 70-200mm zoom on this fine shot.
