Comments on: With the recent heat wave experienced in Ontario this past week or so, I thought I’d post something on the cooler side from March of this year. VIA 691, with VIA 6455 on the point is idling away on a yard track in front of the station in The Pas, MB on a very cold March 16, 2023 morning. KRC’s train 291 The Pukatawagan Mixed will soon be made up in front of the station, but the VIA equipment will continue to spend a few more hours in The Pas before making its way north to Churchill, MB later in the day.

Thanks Ken. I was on my very first VIA trip to Churchill exactly one year ago today! I’m looking forward to my upcoming trip in late September which should yield some cool, pleasant temperatures. But not as COOL as it was on my journey this past March!
