Comments on: Working the yard, GP9u CN 4138 is still showing the “AR Illinois” logo it received for its role in 1997 movie “The Wrong Guy”, which it continues to wear as of spring 2018. The comedy movie can be found on youtube – the train scene begins around the 34 minute mark, for about a minute and a half of cinematic fame.
This photo self-identifies its location, with the Ford Oakville plant in the background. Does anyone recognize the location where “AR Illinois” 4138 and its train were filmed in the movie ? From the movie point of view it’s Illinois, but I think it was made in southern Ontario.
CN 4138′s Illinois connection foresaw CN’s merger with IC that was announced in February 1998. It’s quite often seen in Oakville or Aldershot yard, transfers and road switching along the Oakville sub.

To clarify, CN 4138 is a regular on the CN Oakville sub, but not usually in the lead. For instance train 550 has been seen several times in April 2018 powered by CN4730+CN4138+CN4710 outbound, reverse order on return.
