Comments on: You could call this ‘rare mileage’, for this was the only time I ever had the privilege of shooting CN’s 6060 on the Dundas Sub. It was one of those blistering hot steamy days when more sensible people would be hiding in the air conditioning, but………. A few of us were out to shoot the train on this Wednesday morning (it ran Toronto-Niagara Wed & Sat) and I was up on the hill hoping for a somewhat decent shot even though the sun was on the right side where most of the fans were. All of a sudden we realized this train was going up the Dundas!!! What the??? The train stopped just by the Hwy 403 overpass and then reversed. I never did find out the reason for this move but suspect there might have been a switching problem. Onlookers not identified, but I do know that is my old blue Cougar down in the bottom right corner. :o)

Interesting that there is no diesel locomotive as a backup. They must have had great confidence in the steamer to do its job without fail.
