Comments on: You could say a TH&B train with CP power on CN track.
What a crummy day. I remember this Sunday rather well. It was early spring (yep!) and it was totally miserable but a lot of guys were out as the ‘spring fever’ was in the air. Until today. Damp wet snow took away the sharpness we would have otherwise had in the days’ photos.
Having nothing else in mind, I hung in for the Starlite after almost everyone else had left; and it rolled along just before the dinner hour with 7 units. Can’t find my notes. Only notice lead unit is CP 5725 and there is what looks like an CP RS-18 on the end behind the 4 horses of the TH&B.
Of note in the extreme background is the chimney of the old Burlington Brick plant, long demolished.
This image, BTW, was shot with Sakuracolor print film using a Pentax K-1000.

Steve, the Dundas sub CTC was installed from Hamilton West to Paris West in 1973 (if I remember correctly). The dwarf signal at Bayview remained until the reconfiguration with the No. 3 track to Burlington West about 10 years ago. CTC from Paris West to Frauts was placed in service in the early 2000s (2002?).

Neat shot. I like how the helper track also has a signal. Was the dundas directional running in these days? Curious why one signal would be a high mast and one a dwarf for the mainlines.

I didn't see the flatcars at first figuring it was just a power move. Maybe that's why so many units anyway?

I guess the whopping two TOFC loads were heavy, so they needed extra power.

Is this the same train?
