Winter has come early to Southwestern Ontario, or at least part of it. Amid a raging blizzard, CN 439's power backs onto their train as CN 511 looks on. Today's power is bright and shiny CN 4761, 4700, and a very cold CN 4116 for Chatham. The crew reported that there was no snow west of the Melrose diamond - I bet 4116 is looking forward to thawing out after spending the night accumulating snow in London! CN 511 (4728 west) would follow them out of the yard to work the grain elevator at Kerwood.

  1. Good series of shots Peter! It is funny how in Caledonia there is no snow at all, mother nature certainly is entertaining

  2. Thanks Joe! It made me laugh a little when 509′s crew said there was no snow at all west of town. I think London is prone to “streamers” off Lake Huron. Certainly made for an interesting day!
