Many seem to be getting excited these days by all those look alike GE's pulling grain or oil tanks.....

So you like colourful paint schemes?

How about some green and gold and black ?

and an oil train at that too ! ( so there !)

and at that time: on the 'People's Road'

Quite the sight, even in 1979

Designed and built in Canada,

By MLW - serial number 72757 - Circa October 1944

April 29, 1979 Kodachrome by S.Danko, ( at the Brighton crossovers?).

What's interesting:

For a road that recently (1978) sold off all of the passenger equipment – except commuter - one can just imagine the conversation in the General Manager's office: the steamer is at Spadina, the charter next weekend is from Central Station...hmmm...

Note the head end white markers and white flags and markers (oil lamps) on the tender

Jointed rail on the Kingston Subdivision

And the 305 c.i. V8 in my '77 Impala – designed and built – in Oshawa - by GM - got a good workout on this Sunday.

More steamer in revenue service:

  Lakeshore

  cruising

  surprise!

  Road switcher
