Bayview Junction was the place to be if you wanted to see pushers in action, especially on the CN in Steam and early Diesel days - a spur track at far right would have hosted the pusher engines (Search the site to see more Bayview Junction images with pushers). In modern times, CN yard engines at Aldershot double as pushers as needed. CP is now in the game - the Kinnear yard power seen here doubling as manned pushers, the geeps groaning as they shove 142 up the hill.

  1. I’m not sure what’s more interesting… the fact that they’re pushers or seeing three geeps on containers. The multimarked GP38AC is a nice touch, too. Great catch, Steve.

  2. Awesome!

  3. Nice shot, about ten years ago they would have just stuck eight SD40/SD60s on the head end.
