CN 422 was a little late today, with it closing in on 2:30pm. For power is a pair of junkers and something newer in third. Conductor gives a friendly wave as they roll on through. Not easily seen, two cars back a brake shoe is jammed and there's a decent amount of smoke coming from underneath the autorack. I called it in to CN, however, it doesn't seem they were too concerned. The detector at mile 18 reported no excess heat either. So either the shoe finally released or completely burned away. Either way, I hope that autorack got checked out eventually. Afternoon westbound freights have always been a treat for me, as both 331 and 422 are normally gone by lunch hour. Around 6-7 years ago, 331 was an afternoon regular. Scary to think it has been that long.
