Canadian Pacific Railway 6275, a U3e class 0-6-0 build by CP's Angus Shops in 1912, sits at CP's Goderich terminal facilities in 1958, just ahead of the turntable for the roundhouse. According to Old Time Trains, the 6275 was the last 0-6-0 anywhere on the CPR system at the time, and made its last run on December 6th of that year. It was briefly replaced by an S3 until the new regular Goderich assigned unit 17 (a new CLC DT2 siderod switcher) arrived. Rather than being cut up for scrap, 6275 is now preserved inside the Huron County Pioneer Museum in Goderich. The CPR's Goderich yard, roundhouse and trackage have all been removed, but the old station survives.

  1. Where did the old station go? Has it not been moved from its original location?

  2. The station has been moved a couple hundred feet west toward the beach and turned to face it length-wise. Plan was to be a restaurant/gathering place. If all went well, it should be open by now.

  3. Yep, the restaurant has been open for a couple years now.

    Great shot Bill.
