Back again for a second time CP 2261 heads north along the former Canadian Pacific Owen Sound Sub at Mile 17 with a short freight in tow. With CCGX 4009, OBRY's lone GP9 down with a prime mover failure, the CPR lent the Cando operation a GP20C-ECO for the time being while another former CN GP9 from Winnipeg takes over.

  1. Nicely done !!

  2. Great shot, Michael! No wonder Mr. Bradley is in a good mood these days!

  3. Nice location :) Looking forward to the arrival of CCGX 4016 in a few weeks. In the meantime, 2261 will be the star for a while.

  4. Peter, no kidding on his happiness, lets consider the reasons why, referencing the many thoughtful appliances found on the 2261:

    a) A spare knuckle holder or two on the exterior of the locomotive by rear pilot
    b) Also a holder for an EOT (!) – no need to rest it on the front porch :)
    c) Comfortable and clean seats
    d) A computer console and all the brass levers a hogger could ask for.. but most of all
    e) A large desktop to hold one or more of Inglewoods finest coffees!

I suppose we non railroaders could think of it as this: If you were given a Mercedes to drive for a month when your beater was sent for repair.. how happy would you be? :)

Enjoy Steve – she looks good :) Nice shot again Michael.
