What a lineup this is! 4607 Grande Prairie, 9100, 4330, 4338 and 4350. But all is not as it seems. The lead 3 units are for the sulphur train to Fort McMurray. The 2 trailing units will be left with their crew in Redwater as a work extra. Several of the lead cars are ballast hoppers to be left also. The units are actually waiting for the work equipment to get out of the way and parked in the Redwater siding so the road crews can do their work.

  1. You’re right. Work trains are much easier prey for the camera. Especially if the sky is partly cloudy. Usually have time to wait until the next sunny portion comes to snap photos.

  2. And a whole day of entertainment ahead of you :o ) Nice lineup indeed, and the x-NAR leading!

  3. I should have added that the time is 9:30 in the morning. :-)
