Photo of VIA 6147 being spotted by a CP crew at the South Edmonton Station. Picture taken in late winter of 1983 or 1984. The memory that stands out the most for me and these rail cars is every year or 2 there would be a serious grade crossing accident somewhere between Edmonton and Calgary. Definitely a job where the engineer should have received danger pay.

  1. Thanks Todd. It really made my day when I pulled up and the switch crew was still busy. Added a little action to the picture.

  2. Ahhh….the ol’ dayliners. Brings back memories of me when I lived in Stratfiord from 1985-88…first passenger trains I eve saw at the station there were the dayliners. Before that, I had only witnessed the old VIA F units on their trains.

    Great scene :)
