The Florida Fun Train ran between Fort Lauderdale and Orlando for about two years before shutting down in September 1998. The two F40PHs that they were leasing from Amtrak went back into the general pool still wearing FFT paint. I got a tip that 374 had lead the International into Toronto from Chicago the previous night so I made the trip up to Georgetown the next day to shoot the westbound. It was a nice sunny day except for that crucial few minutes while #685 made its station stop in Georgetown. That little cloud put quite a damper on my mood that day!

  1. Great shot despite the cloud. I remember when the Superliners were regularly assigned to Toronto Amtrak runs. Sigh

  2. Awesome shot! I remember that day, I just missed him :(

  3. I well remember the superliners too. And I have never seen that paint scheme before. Spiffy. But then I don’t get out much. :o ) Nice catch, Glenn !!!
