Unfortunately, according to the online CN Cyclopedia site:

CN 9176, retired 4 December 1989, sold for scrap to Sidbec-Feruni, Contrecoeur QC, May 1994.

So this shot would have been 2 months before it was sold for scrap.

So they ran her through the sand blaster for nothing,weird,may be a town requested it for static display and changed their mind.
