4 unit consist, 4 guys on the front porch, a 14 hundred trailing, it all adds up to a great Friday evening of photography. This crew is on the way to run up into the Suncor spur and drop off some tanks. The 2 fellows on the right had "Formation Trainee" on the backs of their safety vests. I was pretty happy to see a GMD-1, haven't photo'd one in many years. It did not appear however to be assisting, although all cables and hoses were connected, it remained in idle when the other units rev'd up. The GP9 is the 7261. Photo taken @ 18:40.

  1. WhiteoutRailFan: AKA Taylor Woolston. Why are you commenting on this site under multiple accounts?

Again, you have been warned and this is your ONLY warning.

  2. Hey, that’s good news about the 1405. :-)
It did seem odd that the 1438 was just along for the ride.
I’ve had more than one invite to come to Ontario to photograph the Ontario Southland F units. Stopping at Winnipeg on the way will make total sense.

  3. Come to Winnipeg if you want to see a GMD1 working. We got CN 1405.

  4. Thanks Paul, I saw this crew waiting on the east leg of the wye at Bretville Jct. They were getting ready to inspect a train headed for Walker yard. I was happy they remained out the front for the short trip to Suncor.
I see Paul O’Shell took a picture of the 7514 back in Nov. 2014. It was sporting a pretty fresh paint job. It’s not looking to sporty 4 years later.

  5. Awesome catch!!
