MOMENT IN MONCTON. While travelling from Newfoundland to watch their son Thomas complete in the Atlantic Under 15 Soccer Championships in Fredericton, the second of three modes of travel was completed at Moncton on June 23, 2011. Having already flown to Halifax on an early morning Air Canada flight from St.John's, they boarded VIA Rails's westbound 'Ocean' to Moncton to enjoy an excellent meal in the Renaissance diner before transferring to an Orleans bus bound for Fredericton. Plenty of train activity in the late afternoon as second unit F40PH # 6431 is refuelled, the baggage car is loaded and a whole new group of passengers board for the overnight run to Montreal. Lead by F40PH 6408 in the 'Coors Light Silver Bullet Express' scheme on one of the longest days of the year, the 'Ocean' would arrive in Bathurst well before before darkness fell.
