Caption: Pedestrians in typical 70's attire, cyclists and motorists enjoy a warm summer afternoon along St. Clair Avenue East as a TTC streetcar passes by, heading westbound past Clifton Road after coming back down Mount Pleasant from Eglinton Loop. In the background the top of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church is visible, one of the local landmarks in the Moore Park neighbourhood. Sliding the window next to your seat up was de rigueur when it came to air conditioning on hot days. The side advert announces to passerbys that the new Galleria Shopping Centre would be having its grand opening on August 15th, 1972.

Wychwood Carhouse was assigned the St. Clair streetcar route, and their 4500-series A8-class PCC streetcars, like car 4545, were regulars on the route. They were the newest PCC's in the fleet (built 1951), even though the TTC would acquire a sizable fleet of secondhand cars from US cities in the immediate years following their purchase.
