Matching bilevel cab cars wouldn’t follow for another few years until the next order in 1983. The Queen Elizabeth Expressway overpass is visible in the distance, along with the water tower for the famed Mr. Christie (Christie Brown) factory (opened in 1950, but closed in 2013 and demolished for redevelopment). The apartment tower in the background was real estate developer Bramalea Ltd’s new luxury “Palace Pier” tower, completed a year earlier.
