CN SW9 7000 leads the J-zone switching assignment westward along the N&NW spur in Hamilton's industrialized "north end". In the background is International Harvester's Hamilton plant which was acquired by U.S. manufacturer J I Case in 1984 and closed in 1999. The 7000 was retired in 1984 however sister units (renumbered into the 7700s) worked in Hamilton until at least 1986.

  1. Very nice, not much changed here either :)

  2. In the late 70′s the 7000 worked at the hump pull down here in Edmonton. A much better unit than the 7200′s that were posted there previously.
