Local history has it that the first railway station in Houston B.C. burned down. The second station was built in 1925, eventually torn down, and replaced with the station seen here in 1971. Obviously designed more for function than good looks, I'm sure it must have served it's purpose well at the time. Note the old Christmas decorations on the roof, the faded VIA sign, and the 1970's style safety railing.

  2. Ugly.. but it’s a station. This was a CN station then VIA?

  3. Yes, it was a CN station before VIA came along. I tried this shot in B&W and it really worked well, but the reality is … sad, ugly and hard to look at. Best that way for this one.
