The yard is Ashcroft Terminal, a privately owned transloading and storage facility located a short distance east of the town of Ashcroft, and both trains are westbound. The coal train is on CPs Thompson Sub, and will run through the yard at Ashcroft. The train to the right is a CN on CNs Ashcroft Sub and will skirt the town, as both head for Spences Bridge and beyond. The shadows in the bottom of the image show how sunrise works here at high noon in the fall.
