All is quiet in Assiniboia, aside from the occasional "moo" from the cows at the nearby roundhouse, repurposed as cattle pens for a livestock auction company. GWSR 2000 and 2001, after their careers on CN, first went to the Cape Cod Central, then National Railway Equipment, before being sold to the Great Western Railway. Long a MLW stronghold, lately GWRS seems to be switching to GEs.

  1. All MLW’s have been retired and sold, with the GWR switching to GE power. The railway has just purchased 2 additional B40-8′s to add to the existing fleet. M420 #2001 has been sold to the Keewatain Railway and is in Winnipeg currently

  2. Thank you for the update.
