Another interesting note is this spur once had CNR service, back before 1933 when the Guelph Street Railway operated. The york road streetcar line handled freight traffic and there was a spur off the street line it to bring CNR cars down to this part of Guelph from the CNR/Guelph Streetcar interhcange. Back in 1933 this area would have looked much different and a number of smaller industries were located beside the river here, eventually being closed/swallowed by Owens Corning leaving what we have today. Owens Corning sold off half their business to NGF (Japanese firm) that operates the south end of the plant while the north half still makes Fibreglass products.

Thanks man! I’ll share a sunny shot later tho. Took a while to get that.. timing wasn’t right most of the time. Which is why Noe’s shot of the CP MLW was so good, it was doable only late afternoon in sun..
