A CP westbound with CP 9011 on the point is about to head down the Hamilton Sub in late July 2005. The two trailing units look like a SOO SD60M and a CP SD40-2. This is the only shot I can find in my collection of this train. The power on this train was still relatively common at the time but perhaps in the early stages of being endangered as the GE invasion had begun. I'm just laughing thinking about the hoards of railfanners who would be out for a train like this if it was today. Also of note, this unit is now CMQ 9011 and led the ballast train northbound on the Hamilton Sub recently on April 19!

  1. Very nice. This was 230 I think?

  2. Thanks! Happy I found this shot. Some of the oldies are getting resurrected lately. I’m not sure of the train symbol but that sounds about right…pretty sure this was the Sudbury-Hamilton (Aberdeen) train with mostly steel coils.

  3. Excellent photo man.
