A few miles south of Chatsworth, CPR/Credit Valley 136 and 1057 power the return leg of a Toronto - Owen Sound excursion on Thanksgiving Weekend run by Ontario Rail.  The train has just crossed Concession 2 and is approaching the crossing at Highway 10.   1. CP 136 starred in the television series The National Dream based on Pierre Berton’s book of the same name.

  2. Good coal on the way up; then the sacks of coal for the return, from a different source, proved of a poor grade for proper firing.

  3. That’d do it. Do you remember if the stop at Chatsworth included a runby? I think I came across some footage of it.

  4. Sure. I remember the runby. I walked as far south as I could get for a clearing, just to the south side of a creek bridge…but wasn’t pleased with my shot. Due to the time of the year, unless you were by the road with everyone else, the weeds and other growth were a bit too high for a clear shot.
